COMPANY OVERVIEW: Premiere industrial distributor of large specialized products.
POSITION TITLE: National Director of Sales
COMPENSATION: competitive salary + commission
BENEFITS: Standard package + 401k
LOCATION: Houston, TX (up to 50% travel)
SUMMARY: Daily management of sales team including training, assist in preparation of annual budget, developing market strategy, presentations and reports.
DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage key customer relationships. Travel with Director of Operations to meetings with customers and partners to develop strategic relationships. Manage overall client expectations and contribute to a high level of client satisfaction.
Lead business development efforts outside of core accounts by identifying new clients and opportunities by researching the market, attending industry events.
Develop understanding of product/equipment lines, market offerings to be conversant in our capabilities.
Understand market segment of target customers and potential fit with our equipment lines and offerings.
Identify target contacts and relationships within potential clients and conduct initial conversations to explore opportunities.
Develop overview materials to support initial meetings/conversations.
Contribute to pursuit processes by leveraging relationships for insights and influence
Responsible for detailed and accurate sales forecasts.
Proficient in negotiating contracts (with the support of the legal team) with clients and partners.
Collaborates with Director of Operations on company capabilities presentations with customers.
Develop and execute a territory sales plan, continuously updating and modifying it as the market and external forces dictate and provide regular process reports to management and other functions on a consistent basis. The plan will include specific targets, goals, objectives and budgets.
Ensures accurate and current data for sales activities are represented in the CRM system.
Act as a liaison between customer organizations, vendors and staff.
Ensure the safety, reliability and dependability in compliance with company policies as well as OSHA regulations.
REQUIREMENTS:
10+ years sales and sales management experience, including experience at a national accounts level and experience managing a sales team
5-7 years experience in heavy equipment industry
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
College/University Undergraduate degree
