POSITION TITLE: Senior Project Manager
COMPENSATION: DOE + Bonus
BENEFITS: Benefits package, car allowance, phone allowance
LOCATION: Point Comfort, TX
SUMMARY: The Senior Project Manager (SPM) The SPM responsibilities span a broad spectrum, covering all the areas, including but not limited to; Project Planning, Cost Management, Time Management, Quality Management, Contract Management, Safety Management and shall be responsible for the overall coordination and management of the project field activities for their projects. The SPM shall provide management of and direction to the Construction Manager (CM) and/or Site Superintendent (SS) assigned to the construction project sites and shall report directly to the Vice-president of Demolition and keep them informed as to project status, construction personnel requirements, scheduled release dates, and field execution issues requiring resolution. The SPM technically and administratively manages coordination and symmetry of the projects.
DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the construction project from start to finish.
Ensure all construction activities are managed safely and that all employees understand that Fe expects all employees to be responsible for safety.
Resources:
Work with Resource Managers to populate and forecast project needs for employees and equipment
Coordination of crews between project sites
Coordination of equipment between project sites
Perform a key role in project planning, budgeting, and identification of resources needed.
Project Profit and Loss:
Project accounting functions including managing the buy-out and establishing budget
Tracking of team expenses
Identifying and minimizing exposure and risk in the project
Drafting and managing Risk Mitigation/Contingency Plans
Monitor and correctly report a project's progress throughout its duration to senior management and staff through reports and presentations.
Ensure that construction activities move according to predetermined schedule.
Participating in the assignment of CM(s)/SS(s) teams to projects
Efficiently and proactively manage all project activities including, but not limited to:
Claim notification and management - including working with executive management when needed.
Contractual dispute resolution - providing executive and legal teams information and direction to ensure proper and swift resolution.
Manage and assist Project Execution team with all plan writing, permitting and preconstruction activities
Review of weekly and monthly financial reporting
Monthly site inspections, including Safety Inspections, to each project in region or assignment
Constructability reviews of proposals, SOW's, schedules, subcontractor proposals and engineering designs
Assist Director of Estimating and Director of BD in proposal and estimate development in their respective Regions.
Assist Health and Safety Department with implementation of plans and procedures; provide input and advice for continual training and education efforts.
The incumbent is responsible for overall project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting, and control, while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Ensure project documents are complete and the Document Control Plan is strictly followed.
Serve as a key link with the clients and review all deliverables prepared by the team before passing onto client.
Ensure that goals set forth and agreed to are met or exceeded.
Promote and sustain BD involvement with client throughout construction.
Charting out the project objectives and plans, setting performance requirements, and selecting project participants.
Bringing about optimum utilization of resources- labor, materials and equipment, and ensuring their procurement at most cost-effective terms.
Implementation of various operations through proper coordination.
Development of effective communications and mechanisms for resolving conflicts among the various participants.
Perform detailed and constructive employee reviews for all
Create the teams, develop the objectives/goals of each and assign individual responsibilities
Travel to pre-bid meetings, publication of notes, pictures and strategy within the project capture team
Potential for relocation on longer term project is possible, other projects may require up to 3 weeks travel per month
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Proven working experience in project management
Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Must be self-motivated with the ability to work effectively with little or no direct supervision, and thrive in a dynamic fast paced work environment
Ability to work outdoors in a construction environment with the potential for extreme heat and cold and requirements for the use of personal protective equipment to mitigate hazards such as exposure to dust, noise, falling object and inclement weather is a requirement
This position is considered a "traveling " position, must be willing to travel as needed to work onsite, manage project work and project teams as assigned, prefer individual that will be willing to relocate for long term (2 year plus) project.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or related field or equivalent work experience a plus
